REHABILITATION

Step-by-Step

Many of our rescues come to us with injuries and other serious health conditions. Our goal is to give these guys the very best care and treatment to bring them back to full health and ready to move on to a forever family.

Here is Mr chips a few weeks after he arrived with us, quite a difference to the image over in the rescue column. He's a permanent member of Southwest Axolotls and will be living his life with Lana

RESCUE

Helping Those in Need

From time to time we are contacted by concerned members of the public regarding axolotls they have seen that are injured and in poor health. We will do our best to contact the establishment where the axolotl is located with a view to them handing them over to us for care. Some places are reluctant, in which case we will pay the asking fee in order to get the axolotl out of its current situation and back to full health.

We also get contacted by owners who sadly can no longer care for their animal, due to circumstances out of their control, or they can't afford to treat the injured animal. We will travel all over the Southwest in order to take in these guys with no judgement on the owners surrendering their animal. We understand these things happen and you're doing the right thing.

If you need to surrender an axolotl or are aware of places keeping them in sub standard conditions please pop us a message.
