Hey everyone we hope you have all had a great Easter, better late than never :)
Today's blog is a short one, but one that is super important. We will take a look at what tap conditioners are axolotl safe as believe it or not, many contain aloe vera iodine or both which are a big no-no for axolotls.
so let's start with the ones that ARE NOT AXOLOTL SAFE:
API stress coat
Fluval water conditioner
Microbe-lift xtreme water conditioner
Bioactive Tap Safe Plus
Maidenhead aquatics, aqua care tap water conditioner
Interpet aqua safe
I love fish tap safe
Interpet gold tap safe
If you are using any of these, please stop using them immediately as they all contain either, Aloe Vera, Iodine, or in some cases, both.
Now let’s take a look at tap Conditioners that ARE SAFE FOR AXOLOTLS.
Seachem Prime
Seachem Safe ( only for multiple tanks and knowledgeable users)
API tap water conditioner

These are all Axolotl safe water conditioners if you are doing weekly or partial water changes, HOWEVER, if your axolotl is in a tub and requires 100% daily water changes, then API tap water conditioner SHOULD NOT BE USED as this conditioner is only effective for water changes up to 80%.
We hope this clears things up a bit, as we have had many messages regarding tap water conditioner.
If you have any questions or are concerned about a tap water conditioner that we haven’t mentioned, please pop us a message or a note in the comments below and well be sure to get back to you ASAP.
Thanks for reading
